Tampa Garden Club

Welcome to The Tampa Garden Club, where our mission is to kindle an enduring passion for gardening, floral and landscape design, and foster civic and environmental responsibility. We achieve this by providing education, resources, and opportunities for our members, youth, and the wider community.
Established in 1927 with the formation of four garden circles, The Tampa Garden Club took root and blossomed into a dynamic organization. On January 31, 1928, at the residence of the Founders Garden Circle president, Mrs. Sheldon Stringer, the Tampa Federation of Garden Club Circles was born, thus aligning itself with the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs.

Our journey has seen growth and evolution over. Initially situated at the intersection of Platt Street and Bayshore Boulevard, our first clubhouse became a hub for horticultural enthusiasts. In 1948, a new chapter unfolded as we relocated further down Bayshore Blvd., eventually culminating in our present building in 1969. This iconic structure, complemented by a spacious lawn and gardens, stands as a testament to our commitment to education, beautification, and community preservation.
Since our inception, members of The Tampa Garden Club have shared a common love for gardening and a vision of creating a more beautiful and joyous community. Garden Circles, old and new, have united to preserve and protect our natural resources, contributing to numerous beautification projects and school gardens.

At the heart of our club is a profound appreciation for floral artistry. Many of our members are master gardeners, landscape architects, and professional floral designers. However, our diverse membership also includes individuals who align with our goals, value educational opportunities, and enjoy the social interactions within our community.
